GOING FOR CMJ ADDS!

BOYTOY
Grackle | Papercup

BOYTOY’s sun-drenched surfer-rock style may sound like it comes from the beaches of California, but it was in fact born on the streets of Brooklyn, NY. Emerging in 2014 with a ferocious live show, and a self-titled debut that caught the attention of fans and critics across the country, BOYTOY headed to the studio this spring with producer Al Creedon (Eternal Summers/Bleeding Rainbow) to record their new full-length album, Grackle. BOYTOY's cheerful garage rock recalls inspiration from groups such as the Beach Boys, and The Byrds while simultaneously adding a distinctly grunge flavor.

Recommended Tracks: #1, #4, #3, #9 | FCC WARNING #5

New Beat Fund
Sponge Fingerz | Red Bull

SoCal outfit New Beat Fund have a reputation for goofing around like Cartoon Network characters, but their debut album Sponge Fingerz is about to show a new side to the band. Alongside the album's catchy start-of-summer anthems are songs about heartbreak and growing up. With inspirations ranging from the end of relationships, touring on a hangover and finding bargain-bin dancehall records, the band's debut of "G-Punk Beach Funk" is a mix of everything from Beck and Dre to surf, ska punk rock and everything is between.

Recommended Tracks: #5, #8, #2 | CD is FCC Clean; explicit version available by request
